A case study on green jobs: Hulas Wire Industries Ltd., Morang, Nepal
The Hulas Wire Industries Ltd. is a large scale industry, located in Tankisinwari VDC, Ward No. 5, Morang District, Nepal. It produces about 2800 t of HTGS and LCGS galvanised iron (GI) wires per month. The HTGS wires are exported to India whereas; LCGS wires are consumed in the domestic market. The major raw materials used by the industry are imported from India. It has a workforce of about 450 people. The industry is spread over 6.18 ha land area.

The Fujima Oil Company (P) Ltd. is a middle scale industry, which is located in Hattimuda VDC, Ward No. 7, Morang District. Its major products are grease, engine oil and other oils. The products are consumed in domestic market. Some 42 employees are working in the company. It covers land area of about 0.7 ha.

The Khajurico Nepal (P) Ltd. is a small scale indursty, which is located in Chapagaon VDC, Ward No. 7, Lalitpur District. It is involved in production of different bakery products like pastry and cookies. The products are consumed in domestic market. The industry has a workforce of 230 of which 80% are women. It covers land area of about 1.37 ha.

The Nepal Ekarat Engineering Co. (P) Ltd. is a middle scale industry established as a joint venture with Thai company. It is located in Thana Bhanjyang, Hetauda Municipality, Ward No. 11, Makwanpur District. The company produces about 700 different sizes of power transformers per year, which are consumed mostly in the country. Some 99 employees are currently working in the company. It occupies about 0.75 ha land area.

The Nepali Paper Products (P) Ltd. is a small scale industry, involved in manufacturing of various handmade paper products. It is located in Sitapaila VDC, Ward No. 3 in Kathmandu District. The industry exports its products to EU, USA, Africa, China etc. Some 185 employees are working in the company. It occupies an area of 0.51 ha.
