The inception workshop for the establishment of the Asia Pacific Network on Sustainable Tourism (Asia Pacific NEST) will be held in Bangkok on 5th - 6th November 2012. The meeting is organised under the work of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism. It is co-financed by the Government of Korea, co-hosted by the Governments of Thailand and Korea and organised jointly with the United Nations Environment Programme.

The Green Jobs in Asia Regional Conference from 29 to 31 August 2012, hosted by the Government of Indonesia at Surabaya, was convened by the ILO through the support of the Australian Government – ILO Partnership Agreement (2010-2015). The conference was organized as a follow up to the ILO’s 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting which prioritized the transition to green jobs and identified key policy recommendations for their further promotion in the region. Approximately hundred participants representing governments, employers, workers’ organizations, specialized national institutions and practitioners from eleven countries in Asia and the Pacific attended the conference to examine new ways of generating green employment opportunities.
