In this session panelists will discuss regional priorities on climate and disaster resilience and how these are being addressed through coordinated regional efforts by the UN Issue Based Coalition on Climate Change, including for example the Climate Action 4 Jobs initiative (lead by the ILO), guidance on children’s environmental rights and networks for urban resilience. The session will also highlight opportunities of a more comprehensive risk management approach which consider the full spectrum of climate-related hazards as well as their interaction with non-climatic hazards and recognize the complex and systemic nature of risk. The needs and opportunities to strengthen adaptive, inclusive and comprehensive multi-level risk governance mechanisms will be highlighted. In Partnership with the IBC, UNDP, UN Women, UNEP, UNDDR.
