Carbon emissions from Indonesia’s peat fires exceed emissions from entire US economy

Mongabay, 19 Oct 2015 - Indonesia's carbon bomb goes off, with emissions from peat fires reaching their highest levels in 1997-1998. According to the Global Fire Emissions Database, carbon emissions from Indonesia's fires have just topped the CO2 equivalent of a billion tonnes.

But ‘Green Collar (agro-based) jobs have potentials for massive employment of Nigeria’s teeming youths and would also provide employment for the older generations.
