Guidelines on Sustainable Development , Decent Work and Green Jobs

The document provides information on the outcome of the Tripartite Meeting of Experts on Sustainable Development, Decent Work and Green Jobs that took place in Geneva from 5 to 9 October 2015. It contains the adopted guidelines for a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all and the recommendations by the experts for follow-up. The Governing Body is invited to endorse the guidelines and to decide how to give practical effect to them. The Governing Body may furthermore wish to request the Director-General to include the guidelines in development and implementation of the Green Initiative and to recommend that the guidelines be taken into consideration within the context of future discussions on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the implications of the expected Climate Agreement in December 2015 (see the draft decision in paragraph 9)
