The report intends to stimulate thinking about the rapid and vast geopolitical changes of the world today and possible global trajectories over the next 15 years. The report includes in-depth research, detailed modeling and a variety of analytical tools drawn from public, private and academic sources.
A talk show on Green Jobs for Youth was hosted by the ILO Green Jobs and Youth Employment programmes in cooperation with Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, Bangkok on 13 December 2012. The talk show was organized in the context of the Expert Group Meeting on Green Growth, Green Jobs for Youth took place in Bangkok on 12-13 December that jointly organized by UNDESA, ESCAP, ILO and UNEP.
A technical expert consultation on Labour Statistics was convened by the ILO Department of Statistics in Geneva to expose and discuss the preliminary ILO thinking on the conceptual and measurement framework for defining and identifying green jobs, including on the international definition of green jobs for statistical purposes.

Fiji Times Online (1 June 2012) - ILO says that over 600 million new jobs would be needed in the next 10 years. In particular, with as much as one in three unemployed persons today between the ages of 15 and 24 years, governments are called on to shift priorities toward greater investment in youth.
Youth harness enormous potential for growth and development, as many of them are well educated. Not engaging them in productive activities is a huge waste of human resources.
